Safety
During the driver selection process a
candidate is interviewed by our
recruiting officer.

One of
our mechanics performs a
pre-trip inspection. |
The candidate must provide us with a
"clean" Statement of Driving
Record. Then, the potential
driver is submitted to a driving test.
If the results of the interview and road
test are favourable the candidate is
then trained in the handling of
dangerous goods, pre-trip inspection and
hours of work. A driver's manual is
given to all new drivers. This manual
deals with all aspects of a driver's
job, from starting the truck in the
morning to parking it at night.
Equipment Maintenance
Trailers are inspected every 4
months. Tractors are inspected at
different intervals depending on their
use. A highway unit has a "Type A"
inspection performed at 14000km and a
"Type B" at 28000km. A city unit has a
"Type A" inspection performed at 10000km
and a "Type B" at 25000km. These
inspections are performed by our licenced
mechanics in house. Additionally all trucks and trailers are
submitted to a pre-trip inspection
performed by a mechanic before every
trip. This includes owner-operator
equipment.
