2017 is turning out to be quite the year — beginning with three LTL carriers exiting the market.

This left customers looking for reliable, dependable replacements to fill this service gap. This departure was a reminder that nothing is infallible. In the weeks and months that followed, we were concerned about what 2017 would be like for the industry as a whole.

Looking Back in Order to Move Forward

As the year progressed, we continued the vision that we began in 1991:

  • Providing consistent next-day delivery to our customers in Ontario and Quebec.
  • Working hard to keep our customer relationships strong.
  • Ensuring steady growth in the face of adversity.

In 2017, we continued to enhance our vision of providing service lanes from Windsor to Quebec City with the opening of our sixth terminal in Kitchener, Ontario. This new terminal allowed us to link Minimax to the entire 401 corridor.

Growth & Change

Volumes have been very strong all year — and continue to remain strong as the year comes to an end. The forecast going into next year looks good.

As companies grow, the faces of employees change — and this was true for us in 2017.

We said goodbye to three, long-standing members of our family who departed to enjoy their retirements. While we were sad to see them leave, we were happy for them to start the next chapter in their lives.

Departures make room for new faces across the organization and we were please to add:

  • Four new members to our Sales Team, who brought with them extensive sales and customer relations skills.  
  • Skilled team members at our Toronto, Kitchener, and Cornwall terminals.  
  • Experienced and customer-focused drivers.

All of these hard-working people continue to contribute to our success.

Our growth and expansion required the purchase of equipment, and we increased our fleet by 40 trailers and 14 trucks.

The Way Forward

Our focus going into 2018 will be to continue offering the highest quality in service and technology. We look forward to implementing and developing new technology with a focus on improving customer experience.

We will continue to promote our company vision and family roots in an ever-changing industry, and we look forward to what 2018 will bring.
