During the driver hiring process a candidate is interviewed by our recruiting officer. The candidate must provide us with a clean Statement of Driving Record. Then, the potential driver is submitted to a driving test. If the results of the interview and road test are favourable the candidate is then trained in the handling of dangerous goods, pre-trip inspection and hours of work. A driver’s manual is given to all new drivers. This manual deals with all aspects of a driver’s job, from starting the truck in the morning to parking it at night.

Our goal is for all our vehicles, at all times, to be in compliance with the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario, Regulations 575 and 587.

Preventative Maintenance

All units are inspected at regular intervals as defined in our “Maintenance Statement”. These inspections are performed by our licensed mechanics in house in our Motor Vehicle Inspection Station. Additionally, all trucks and trailers are submitted to a pre-trip inspection performed by a licensed mechanic before every trip. This includes owner-operator equipment.
